WEMAN developed a series of manuals on Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) (see “Tree of Diamond Dreams” and “Steering Life’s Rocky Road“), which can be integrated into various service provision mechanisms or programmes for economic development, such as microfinance, BDS or agricultural extension. In Uganda a multitude of organisations are using or piloting the methodology. Under the WEMAN programme around 80,000 women and men in poor communities were reported to be using GALS for gender justice and livelihoods improvement.
