CO2 Neutral

A carbon footprint assessment of Agri-ProFocus was carried out by Soil & More in accordance with the standard “GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard”; also referred to as Corporate Standard. This standard was developed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Resources Institute. It is widely accepted and the most frequently used standard for corporate carbon footprint assessments.

The goal of this assessment is to account for all GHG emissions (carbon footprint) of Agri-ProFocus. A carbon footprint serves to identify the environmental performance of a specific entity/activity with respect to its greenhouse gas emissions, thus assessing its impact on climate change. Further goals of this carbon footprint are:

  • to collect information the company needs in order to improve data collection for the next carbon footprint assessment;
  • to give an overview of emission sources and their contribution to the total carbon footprint (expressed in numbers and percentages);
  • to identify potential sources and possibilities to reduce GHG emissions;
  • to finally compensate for the caused emissions through the purchase of Soil & More International’s carbon credits, and on that way investing in composting projects that take place in developing world.

Agri-ProFocus has been given the CO2 Neutral label in September 2013.
