First Agri-Business Finance Fair held in Ethiopia

On Saturday 6th of October, the Jimma University Agricultural College opened its doors to receive 204 farmer-leaders and 7 financial institutions. They all came to attend the first Agri-Business Finance Fair in Ethiopia. The Fair included a marketplace where farmer organisations met with banks/MFIs and held discussions on the challenges in financing agricultural business.

Over 16,000 farmers attend the 2nd Kenyan Agri-Business Fair

The Agri-Hub Kenya team is proud to report that a whopping 16,728 farmers were registered to have visited the Agri-Business Trade Fair on 10 August. The Fair was organised in close cooperation with the Kenya Livestock Producers Association (KLPA), in order to provide farmers with both financial and other agri-business services.

“Banks do not fear financing agriculture”

In the last week of November, both the Agri-Hubs in Uganda and Kenya organised Finance Fairs, where hundreds of farmers met with banks and other financial service providers. The Fairs delivered great results: posing the question to the audience of who actually did business during the Ugandan Fair resulted in a hall full of hands up!
